One of the many characteristics that makes Inspire unique is its corporate commitment to giving back to the community. Inspire's team has demonstrated that employees can create tremendous results when they direct their entrepreneurial talent and zeal to community service efforts. Inspire has created a culture that encourages community involvement and sets the standard for other entrepreneurial companies in the region.
Inspire's
Operations Team and Regulatory Affairs department have partnered with Durham
and Cary Habitat for Humanity to work on several projects that will provide
housing for families in the local community.
In November 2007 a group of Inspire employees participated in a Habitat for
Humanity program called "EyeBuild" in New Orleans as an opening to the American
Academy of Ophthalmology. This project was designed to build homes for 75 families
in New Orleans that were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Inspire was one of
several companies that provided financial and human resources to build these
homes.
In 2010, Inspire is a proud sponsor of the North Carolina Science Festival, a multi-day celebration showcasing science and technology. The Festival will highlight the educational, cultural and financial impact of science in North Carolina.

Since 2004, Team Inspire Cycling has participated in the MS-150 Bike Tour. Team members include Inspire employees, friends, family members, and scientists from Duke and UNC. Since 2004, the team has raised more than $20,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Inspire has been a sponsor of the American Heart Association's Heart Walk since 2005. The Walk is a unique campaign that blends the benefits of physical activity, community involvement and personal giving to fight the nation's number one and number three killers - cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Inspire
has been a co-host of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Great Strides Walk since
2005. In 2008, Inspire raised $7,500 for the 10K walk to help fund research
through the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Food
Bank of Central and Eastern NCIn 2008, Inspire again contributed to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC. Total food and monetary donations equaled 6,075 pounds of food!
In
July 2008 Team Inspire Cycling participated in the Seacoast Safari for Cystic
Fibrosis. The Team joined about 100 other cyclists who rode 150 miles along
the New England coast to raise funds for the CF Foundation. Team Inspire was
presented with three awards-a certificate of appreciation for being a Gold Sponsor
of the ride, the Highest Fund-raising Team trophy, and the trophy for Commitment
to Excellence. The 2008 Safari raised over $70,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,
with over $9,000 raised by Inspire.
