Creating Value through Partnerships

Business Development is a touchstone to our corporate strategy at Inspire, and as such, we strive for excellence in our collaborations. Our in-licensing approach is aligned with our core therapeutic areas of ophthalmology and pulmonology. We target opportunities that complement or augment our discovery and development programs, as well as those that leverage our expanding commercial capabilities within North America.

Our approach to collaborations is bimodal. We are interested in alliances that facilitate expansion of our current product portfolio and those that enable future commercialization of our pipeline products outside of North America.

We strive to achieve a balanced approach to building Inspire's business and creating value for our shareholders through our partnerships.

Our current marketed products are the result of successful collaborations with Allergan, Inc., a global leader in ophthalmology, and InSite Vision Inc., known for its novel, DuraSite® drug delivery technology. The Allergan relationship enabled a launch opportunity with ELESTAT® combined with the co-promotion opportunity of RESTASIS®. Inspire rapidly established an impressive reputation in the marketplace, placing us in an excellent position to take on additional commercial products when the timing and opportunity were right. In 2007, Inspire licensed-in AZASITE® from InSite Vision, which resulted in an expansion of the sales force and build out of the commercial infrastructure, including managed markets, manufacturing and technical operations.

Our current clinical pipeline is characterized by a balanced blend of compounds from our own research and those from our partnering initiatives. PROLACRIATM and denufosol were discovered and developed by Inspire, based on our extensive, in-house expertise in P2 receptor technology. Our glaucoma program is the result of a strategic, in-licensing initiative with WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation).

Quote: One of Inspire's competitive advantages is our ability to build strong and sustainable partnerships.
